Barrage Company to Get £200m?

The Western Mail reports that Severn Tidal Energy is at an advanced stage in negotiating an injection of £200m by a global infrastructure investor to carry out in depth environmental and economic impact assessments.  These would address the concerns of the Parliamentary committee that failed to endorse the project last year.

BioBlitz at Ebbw Vale

There will be a Biodiversity Blitz Day on Saturday 26 July 2014 at Garden City, Ebbw Vale, 10am – 4pm.  A large ex industrial site, this is a poorly recorded area which doubtless contains many interesting species and habitats. Records generated during the event will be passed on to the Council, so attendees will be helping guide future management of the site.  These free events are a great opportunity to get out into the field and do some wildlife recording with fellow naturalists and wildlife enthusiasts.  It is important that SEWBReC know who to expect on the day, so please e-mail
