Usk Conservation and Environmental Group was formed in 2000. In 2010 we celebrated our 10th anniversary, a testament to the energy and enthusiasm of our volunteers and supporters.
What do we do?
The group runs a wide variety of activities, all related to environmental issues both local and global. Practical projects include the establishment of a new wildflower meadow, clearing the old railway to create a walking and cycling route, and planting a new 1 acre area of woodland. The group also runs weekly walks all year round, and talks during the winter with visiting speakers on a wide range of subjects.
We have received excellent support with funding and advice over the years from Environment Wales and Keep Wales Tidy. We are pleased that our experience has been used to encourage more groups to start locally, and more people to take part in volunteering for the environment. We are always open to ideas for new projects, please contact us if you have a burning idea to which we could contribute!
Come and join our friendly group, new members are always made welcome.
