Usk Conservation and Environmental Group

Usk Conservation and Environmental Group was formed as a result of an urban ecology study of Maryport Street Usk.  Part of the study asked local residents if there was room for a new general conservation group in the town.  The result was a resounding "Yes!"

What do we do?

The group runs a wide variety of activities, all related to environmental issues both local and global.  Practical projects include the establishment of a new wildflower meadow, clearing the old railway to create a walking and cycling route, and planting a new 1 acre area of woodland.  The group also runs weekly walks, and talks during the winter with visiting speakers on a wide range of subjects.  More recently UCEG has organised weekend breaks to other areas.  Please use the links on this page to find out more about our activities.
