Who are we?
The Countryside Service is part of Monmouthshire County Council.

What do we do?
We work to provide opportunities for all sections of the local community and visitors to get out into the beautiful Monmouthshire countryside and also help them gain a better understanding of countryside issues. We also have statutory duties to protect and enhance the countryside.

Activities & Events
Our work includes:
  • Providing and managing countryside sites and facilities
  • Managing the public rights of way network and countryside access
  • Protecting trees and hedgerows
  • Protecting and enhancing biodiversity
  • Conserving and enhancing the landscape
  • Providing an education programmeEducation & Biodiversity

  • Supporting the Wye Valley AONB partnership
