Starting on 20 June, for 20 months, at least one of the Brynglas tunnels will be closed to traffic for up to five nights a week between 8.00pm and 6.00pm. During this essential maintenance period the main alternative route will be Newport’s Southern Distributor Road between junctions 24 and 28, though the intervening junctions will be available for local access not involving the tunnels.
