The tone of the forthcoming public inquiry into the M4 relief road may be forewarned by Friends of the Earth’s claim that Welsh Government has lied with its claim that the existing motorway was 95% full in 2014 when peak time figures between 46% and 76% are more realistic.  Welsh Government has responded by saying that the M4 is at 80% capacity at the Brynglas Tunnels, rising to 95% towards Junction 28.
