The Abergavenny Community Orchard has been re-named the Laurie Jones Community Orchard in honour of its founder who died in December 2014 and will be greatly missed by his many friends in Abergavenny and Monmouthshire. Laurie had great plans for the Orchard and food projects in Abergavenny, and the volunteers are holding a number of events this year to bring Laurie’s dreams to fruition.
The first of these is a wassail to sing and drink to the health of the trees by fire and candlelight, to encourage a good harvest this autumn! The wassail begins at 4.30pm. Prior to that we will be pruning the trees from 2pm, everyone is very welcome.
