Our work includes:

advice to Government, local authorities and others to help them make
well-informed decisions on matters that affect the environment
-
maintaining the natural beauty of the land and coast by encouraging
landowners and land managers to manage it appropriately
-
ensuring
and enhancing the survival of species and their habitats and protecting
geological features
-
monitoring
change in habitats, species and landscapes
-
promoting
access to the countryside for enjoyment
-
working in
partnership with others and providing grant aid to support common aims
and objectives
|
- helping
those who work in the countryside to strike a balance between sustaining
country products like timber and food, with maintaining landscape
character and wildlife
- increasing
people's understanding and appreciation of the countryside, its wildlife
and habitats
- seeking effective policies and other
