Monmouthshire County Council Waste Policy Richard outlined the
changes proposed to the "black box" scheme. Contract had to be
submitted for new tenders 2008/9 only two were received DSO & MCR.
DSO scheme was proposed was "co-mingled" (ie unsegregated at source)
and MCC had bought a new vehicle to carry out a test in the Gilwern
Govilon area. Collection would change to alternate weeks.
It was agreed that members write to local councillors complaining
about the changes and mentioning the advantages of collecting source
segregated waste and manually sorting. The group would also write
complaining together with Monmouth and Chepstow groups.

Cheques for £7.50 (£2.50 unwaged) and payable to 'Abergavenny and
Crickhowell FoE' to be sent asap to: Keith White, Brynhonddu, Pandy,
Abergavenny. NP7 7PD.
Barry explained to members the enormous amount of
time and effort it took him every year to get all members to pay
their subs and that it drives him crazy! He asked ALL members to
co-operate by paying their subs right away, or on receipt of these
Minutes.
(Note: emphasis added by the Co-ordinator after the meeting. It
really does drive me nuts receiving membership lists from Keith in
September showing that only half the membership has paid their subs.
This happens every year - could it please please not happen in
future?)
